Dear Alumni, Spring to summer is always one of my favorite times of the year with graduation upon us and members of our Senior class transitioning onto college. Amidst the business of this time, it also allows us time to reflect on our growth, challenges and successes that we have experienced over the course of this school year. Within the past two months, KIPP San Jose Collegiate was recognized by U.S. News & World Report in their annual Best High Schools ranking, earning the fourth highest rank among all Bay Area Schools, and a rank of “18” in the state of California. This recognition is a testament to the dedication of the entire KSJC community.
This month, celebrated the commencement of our 8 th graduating class from KIPP San Jose Collegiate with over 110 graduates crossing the stage and continuing their education at colleges across the state and country. As we continue to grow in size, it is exciting to see KSJC graduates continue to live out our school’s mission as our recent graduates matriculate to two and four year colleges throughout California and the country. In total, 71% of the graduating class is entering a four-year university next fall, and 25% will be attending two year colleges. This year’s graduates will be also attending nearly every University of California school and will be joining fellow KSJC alumni at campuses that include San Jose State, Harvard University, Duke University, UC Davis and Evergreen College to name just a few. Congratulations to all members of the class of 2019! We wish you the best in your next steps in your journey.
This spring, we have also begun celebrating the college graduations of many members of KIPP San Jose Collegiate’s classes of 2013, 2014 and 2015. As we live out our mission of KIPP through College, I feel immense gratitude to have the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated community of families, students and staff. Wherever you may be in your post-KSJC journey, I encourage you to stay connected with our growing community of alumni.
I wish you the best this coming season. Tom Ryan Principal
